Whats the best way to get into web & graphics design?

I already have a good full time job but I would like to get into web design for fun. Where would someone start? What are some basic programs you need to start making graphics and web pages? Whats best PC or Mac? Is this very expensive to do? I can draw

The BEST way is to know your chops. Know the tools of the trade and how to use them.

Photoshop, for instance. It is not enough to know how to run a graphic through a series of filters, or to be able to switch heads from one person

Flexible Writing, Web & Graphic Design Jobs on the Rise

The three creative job fields saw biggest increases in available employment according to FlexJobs' monthly index report.

Jobs perceived as more typical for flexible work experienced several months of declining job postings, but rebounded in January with notable increases. According to FlexJobs' Flexible Job Index , some of the biggest jumps were in Graphic Design which had a 36% jump in jobs available, followed by Web Design with a 28% increase, and Writing with a 21% increase.

"January job posting data has come in strong, and we're happy to see an increase in new job opportunities for the creative fields," Sara Sutton Fell, CEO of FlexJobs stated.

On the flip side, consulting saw a dip with a 32% change in employment postings. Other categories that saw declines in volume include Insurance, Customer Service, Accounting & Finance and Administrative.

Medical & Health continued its streak of being the category with the most abundant flexible job listings available of the 50 career fields studied. Overall, the top 5 job categories with the most available job openings in January were:
