Web pages remember inspiring teachers in Wallingford

WALLINGFORD - Teachers go to work every day hoping to inspire
their students and make a difference in their lives. Many educators
try to infuse their lessons with excitement and enthusiasm rather
than just prepare lectures and notes.
Bob Harris, a retired English teacher at Lyman Hall High School,
succeeded in making a difference in one of his student's lives.
Harris had such an effect on Dulcey Worth, now a seventh-grade math
teacher at Moran Middle School, she decided to write about him on
"Memories of Teachers," a section of the Wallingford Public Schools
website. The memories section, developed last fall by Gail
McCormack, of the Wallingford Education Foundation, gives alumni an
opportunity to share stories about their former teachers.
"He was so much fun," Worth said.
In Worth's brief message on the web page, she shared stories about
Harris' exciting teaching tactics. During a "Canterbury Tales"
lesson, she remembered Harris' jumping on the windowsill and doing
different voices for the characters.
