Jamie’s web idea sells like teen spirit
A TEENAGER has taken his first steps into the business world – without even leaving his bedroom.
Inspired by his family’s yearly challenge to find him the perfect present, 13-year-old Jamie Houston designed and built his very first website aimed at making that problem a thing of the past.
The Lytham St Annes High School pupil launched presents4teenagers.com last week, and he already has big plans for his online future.
It is a one-stop-shop of ideas for parents and grandparents who struggle with that age old problem of what to buy a teenager.
From Harry Potter DVDs and books to the latest games releases it provides helpful links to help out the struggling online shopper.
Jamie said: “I quite like designing and creating things so I thought I would give it a go.
“I’m a teenager and my parents and grandparents are always asking me what I want because they have no idea, so that’s where my idea came from.
“In the future I would like to build on it and try to make it bigger, and hopefully make it pay as well with adverts, I just need to publicise it.
