A remodeling designer's tips for selecting a design style

In today’s technology-filled world there are so many resources for kitchen designs. Homeowners are overwhelmed with Facebook pages, Tweets from design firms and manufacturers, websites and blogs, and catalogs and suppliers on every street corner. The thought of remodeling a kitchen is so scary that it gets put off and put off.
Customers have more information available to them but are more afraid than ever to make a choice. Homeowners often feel they need to see every product and fill every space. Although it is always recommended to compare products and choices, there are definitely more out there than any one person can research. Each project should begin with a bit of dreaming and a lot of research.
For most customers, the best starting place is to determine a style. People typically know what they like the look of when they see a photo. I recommend that my clients start by gathering pictures. Gather pictures of colors they like, spaces they have seen that appeal to them, even pictures of their space as it is. Most people can easily find a couple of pictures of things they like, then the challenge is to help them pick the pieces to give them that feel in their home.
