Four decades into the kitchen and bath business, George Kennedy has made a few concessions to the age of the Internet.
Kennedy Kitchens and Creative Bath & Brass , 2763 S. Sixth St., launched a website three years ago. He goes online. There’s also the go-anywhere-he-goes cell phone. And he tried design software briefly, but quickly returned to pencil and paper.
“I have a table here, and I work from the desk back there,” the 81-year-old Kennedy said, displaying a few of his latest drawings at the shop in the County Market shopping center.
Ever the businessman, he added, “I don’t give them to anyone until we have a contract.”
Kennedy leaves most of the online work to his daughter, Janet Leigh Kennedy, describing her as the business “webmaster.”
Leigh Kennedy, who good-naturedly refers to her father as “old school” when it comes to Internet technology, said the transition took awhile.
