Norfolk: Lots of options at River's Edge

In a real estate market that has slowed in recent years, the Village at River’s Edge is the exception. The first phase of the stylish Norfolk 55-and-over community, consisting for 42 semi-detached homes, sold out in 2009. Phase II, well into the construction and sales phase, boasts a number of pleased residents with additional units expected to be complete for fall. This 62-unit phase will be followed by the final phase of the Village at River’s Edge, which will be home to 32 more custom homes.
“We’re happy to present our 2011 sales results to interested buyers. We’ve experienced tremendous growth within the 55-and-over communities, having closed on 38 properties in the past two years,” said Realtor Paul Rao of Prudential Page Realty.
Rao attributes much of that success to the diverse nature of their homes. On paper, the Village at River’s Edge offers six different layouts, living space ranging from a modest 1,364 square feet to a more dynamic 1,826 square feet. However, a tour through the 51-acre complex shows how flexible a property in this community can be.
